Volunteer Nurse, Carol Grysko, receives the Local Heroes Award from the Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary and Ponte Vedra Recorder

On May 23rd, at a special meeting of the Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary in partnership with the Ponte Vedra Recorder long time nurse, Carol Grysko, received the Local Hero Award. the Local Heroes Award is given to recognize the “unsung heroes” who give back to the community and reflect the spirit of the Rotary Club’s motto, “Service Above Self.”  Carol Grysko is a retired nurse who has shown extraordinary dedication to the community by volunteering over 1,481 hours of her time at Volunteers in Medicine, Since January 2015. Having worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale for over 41 years, Carol has a wealth of experience that she has put to good use in her volunteer work. Her passion for helping those in need and her ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers have made her an invaluable member of the team.

Carol has continuously filled in as a nurse any time she is needed at the clinic. She is available to patients who call in and need to have their health concerns addressed through the clinic’s triage system. Carol’s attention to detail and organizational skills ensure that patients receive the care they need and deserve. Her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail have contributed to the smooth operation of the clinic, while her friendly demeanor and positive attitude have uplifted the spirits of staff, volunteers, and patients alike.  

Carol Grysko was recognized her outstanding contributions to the community and healthcare. She truly deserves to be recognized for her years of hard work and dedication.
