Kathy Barbour
Kathy Barbour, APR, Fellow PRSA, is Vice President, Integrated Marketing Communications and Patient Experience for Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville, Fla., and a past national chair of the Public Relations Society of America. In her role, she is also responsible for ensuring a positive patient and employee experience for the brand and the Enterprise Project Management Office. Her leadership is instrumental as Brooks leads the future of rehabilitation and extends its national footprint.
As a dynamic communications professional with more than 20 years of experience, Barbour has led teams for nationally renowned organizations including Mayo Clinic, Acosta, Florida Blue and Baptist Health South Florida. Her expertise ranges from integrated marketing to media relations, employee communications, strategic planning and crisis and issues management.
Barbour previously served on the Feeding Northeast Florida Board, the UF Advisory Council for the Department of PR and the UNF Department of Communication Executive Advisory Board. She was a Jacksonville Chair for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk and is a Bike MS Team Captain. In 2022 Barbour was selected as an American Heart Association First Coast Woman of Impact.
Barbour is accredited in public relations and was inducted into the PRSA College of Fellows. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives; holds an MBA from the University of North Florida; and a BS degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida. She’s a mother to two boys, a SCUBA dive master and an Ironman triathlete.
