Paula Chamberlain, MSN, MA
Paula Chamberlain is a Director for the Military Service Line at Ascension St. Vincent’s. In her role she oversees Active Duty personnel caring for patients in an advanced practice setting. Along with those duties she coordinates and assists military, veterans and their families with their care at Ascension St. Vincent’s facilities in the Jacksonville area. She also works closely with Ascension St. Vincent’s Leaders and Talent Acquisition in marketing and recruiting. Prior to her work at Ascension St. Vincent’s, Paula was a Naval nurse executive at Naval Hospital Jacksonville where she retired as a Captain with 30 plus years of Service. During her time in the military she worked as an Executive Officer at Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay Cuba, a Senior Nurse Executive/Director in Virginia, and as a Director in Public Health in Florida to highlight a few areas. She continues to maintain ties to the military by consulting with the Navy Public Health Office on current public health issues.
Paula is an active member in the community. She is an Advisory Council member to Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone where they provide counseling to military, veterans and family members. She is also a member of the Military Issues Committee, Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition and Fire Watch.
Paula has been married to David for over 25 years. Together they have a daughter Liana and a Maine Coone named Magic. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, reading, cooking and gardening.
Paula is a Registered Nurse. She holds Masters degrees in Community Health Nursing/Public Health from University of Texas Health Science Center, Strategic Planning/Policy from the Naval War College and Human Resources from University of Maryland. She earned her Nurse Executive Advanced Certification and has a host of military honors.
