I made a promise to myself to always learn something new – whether big or small. As a hematologist/oncologist since 2006, I constantly push my boundaries to be the best I can be to help my patients. When I see patients that have done well and come back to tell me about it - it fills my cup. To see the progress we make every day when taking care of patients, not just with better medicines but with continued research, personalized treatments as well as support for patient’s personal lives and family aspects - my cup overflows. Although personally, I do carry guilt with some of the sacrifices I have had to make with time away from my family, there is no doubt that in my heart, I know this is my purpose.

I enjoy giving back to the community. I am on the Board of Trustees of Memorial Hospital, on the Board of Cancer Specialists of Northeast Florida, I participate with Women in Medicine and as a team member of the Patient Assistance Foundation.

In my free time, I love to travel, cook and spend time with my family and friends. I have learned throughout my career that the simple things in life can bring the biggest joy.

My mantra is to never forget the power of kindness for health and happiness!
